Hi friends!
This week, I made a really important promise to myself; I’m gonna stop complaining, and start acting.
I have been really unhappy with my health, I’ve gained a lot of weight, and can tell in every picture or glance in the mirror. I kept complaining and saying it needed to change but kept getting off track.
I’ve always been the person to tell people “if you don’t like something, change it!” and I’m finally taking my own advice.
It’s time for no more excuses!
I’m waking up at (precisely) 4:06 in the morning, and getting my butt to the gym early. I’m starting with a plan that worked for me in the past and will alter as I go!
Now I have my (very few) followers to hold me accountable – Â no more backing out.
I also understand it is extremely important to take care of your mind. I think it’s really important for all of us to take a step back and think about that sometimes.
Stand up for yourself and what you believe in. Take that extra time in the day to relax and do something to unwind. Compliment a stranger on the street or give to a charity (surprisingly enough, things that don’t even benefit me, are the things that make me the happiest).
It’s okay to be sad sometimes, it’s okay to be angry sometimes, what matters most is that you don’t let it ruin you. Keep your chin up, keep your mind positive, and keep moving forward!
I’ve been telling myself the same thing for a few months not… I’ve started researching gyms in my area, but they’re all so expense. I’ll get there one day. Kudos to you, though. 🙂

Yeah I got lucky and found one for $20 a month, and it’s still a good gym and not tiny like planet fitness.
You could also start with home workouts! There’s a bunch out there, some even incorporate “weights” using household items!

I went about 2 months doing home workouts 30 minutes every morning, but then I got a puppy and my morning has been consumed by taking care of her. The cheapest gym membership I’ve found in my area has been $200/month. And I’m not about to put down that much money on any membership, no way, no how!

HOLY COW!!! That’s an insane gym membership! You must live in an expensive city lol, I thought Chicago was bad!
Keep checkin, girl! You got this (:

Not so much as expensive as lacking in options. There are only 3 private gyms, and a YMCA which is rather pathetic.

Yeah YMCA’s aren’t the best.
Try park districts, even stuff like kickboxing, MMA classes, anything to just get ya moving if you’re easily bored of home workouts!

I’m considering Crossfit, but I hear those are more weight training… I don’t want to get too bulky if you know what I mean. 🙂

Nah that’s a myth!! Lifting burns more calories than just cardio, and burns calories for longer. Lifting won’t get you HUGE and bulky unless you’re trying, it’ll just get you toned and healthy.

Thanks for the info! Might have to look more in to it! 😀

Yes! Research benefits of lifting or myths of lifting. I know a lot of lifters who only do cardio once a week and are extremely toned and healthy

Hi Kasti!
I’m so glad Erica posted your blog! I agree with you 100 percent that exercise and good health is only successful if you do it for YOU. it’s hard but becomes easier once you begin to see results. I’ve been working out for years, but recently began working out with a personal trainer who taught me the correct way to exercise and also incorporated weights and lifting. It’s really made a huge difference and I’m seeing improvements in a short period of time. Hang in there and persevere–you can do this!

Thank you so much!! It definitely is hard to get started, but like you said, once you get in that flow it’s hard to stop!!
